The world's largest NFL stadium is being planned for the LA Rams. The $5 billion stadium, with 70,250 fixed seats, is “trending” toward 250 suites and 15,000-20,000 club seats and loge boxes (final numbers have not been determined). Located on 298 acres and just east of Los Angeles International Airport in Inglewood, California, the stadium is designed to host world-class sporting events and college championships.

A perforated, permeable metal ‘skin’ wraps the venue to create an open-air canopy. This curving roof covers much more than the stadium itself, including outdoor ‘rooms’ and plaza spaces that blur the distinction between indoor and outdoor environments. The ethylene tetrafluoroethylene (ETFE) canopy was designed to enable hosting year-round events while maintaining an outdoor feel. ETFE, a lightweight, transparent roof membrane, will create the atmosphere of an open-air environment while protecting patrons from the elements. Currently, the world’s third largest crane has the job of setting the canopy into place.

The nearly 3 million-square-foot, multi-purpose venue is slated to open in Summer of 2020.
